Remote Power BI consulting, anywhere in the US
Blue Peak builds Power BI dashboards, data pipelines and reporting for public agencies and businesses in any state. The work happens inside your own Microsoft tenant, so distance changes nothing about the build. What changes is how we keep you informed: in writing, on a schedule, with a recorded walkthrough of everything we hand over.
Every project is quoted from a written scope before you sign. A senior consultant does the work, and there is no sales layer between you and the person who builds it.
Teams that need one working report, built properly, wherever they are
Public agencies in any state
Cities, counties, police and sheriff's departments, state programs, workforce boards, libraries and special districts. If you are looking for a Power BI consultant for government work, we already work the way public buyers need: a written scope, a written quote, an invoice per phase, and a statement of work your purchasing office can file.
Blue Peak is a SAM.gov active small business, UEI PRPBEM9HEND3, CAGE 15CS5.
Businesses and nonprofits
Firms of roughly 10 to 250 people that run on Microsoft 365 and Excel: finance and operations teams with a monthly report rebuilt by hand, owners who want one dashboard they trust, and organizations whose numbers disagree from one spreadsheet to the next.
No minimum contract. A first project can be one page.
Written first, reviewed on screen, recorded at the end
The same four phases as every Blue Peak project (how we work), run so that nothing depends on being in the same room or the same time zone. Decisions are made in writing, which also leaves a record you can forward to a manager or an auditor.
Written intake
You send the report you want replaced, a sample export and a few lines on who reads it. We reply with questions about every ambiguous field. No sales call is needed to get a quote.
Written scope and quote
A short scope: what the report answers, which sources feed it, what is out of scope, the fee, the acceptance test for each phase and the start date. Nothing starts until you sign it.
Build in your tenant, with screen-share reviews
We build inside your Microsoft tenant under an account you issue. You get a dated written update every week, and the report itself is there to open between reviews. Review sessions are screen shares at a time set in the scope, and every one is recorded for anyone who could not attend.
Recorded walkthroughs and handoff
At handoff you get the Power BI file, the documented measures, a written description of every source field, and recorded walkthroughs of how the report works and how to maintain it. Recordings replace the meeting where possible, so a new analyst can watch them a year from now.
Central time, and a process that does not wait on meetings
We work in US Central time. Because the project runs in writing, you are rarely waiting on a meeting slot: send a question at the end of your day and you get a written answer within one business day.
Live review sessions are booked at a time written into the scope, chosen to suit your team. If your project needs a standing weekly review, we say so up front and price the hours in.
Your data stays in your tenant
Remote work raises a fair question about where the data goes. The answer is the same as for a consultant in your building: nowhere outside your environment.
Built and published in your Microsoft tenant
Reports, models and refresh schedules live in your Power BI workspace. Nothing is copied to a Blue Peak server, and the finished model is yours with no licence back to us.
An account you issue and remove
We work under an account your IT staff create, with your sign-in policy and multi-factor authentication. Remove it at handoff and our access ends there.
The least data the report needs
Where a report can run on aggregated or de-identified data, that is the version we ask for. Your data is never pasted into a public AI tool, and the scope names any data that must stay out of the project.
Access rules you can audit
Row level security controls who sees which slice, and the rules are written down so your IT staff or auditor can check them without asking us.
Quoted in writing, wherever you are
Every project is quoted from a written scope, agreed before anything is signed. It is the same whether you are down the road or three time zones away. Send us a line about the report and we come back with a written quote.
What moves the fee: how many sources, how clean the exports are, how many pages, and whether row level security is needed. Your fee is the one quoted in your written scope. Licences are bought from Microsoft directly, and we take no margin on them. Each phase is its own invoice, Net 30, on acceptance.
What we handle for public buyers in other states
Purchasing offices ask the same questions of every vendor from another state. Here is what we provide without being asked twice.
- W-9 with our legal name and EIN, sent the day you ask.
- Certificate of insurance. Professional liability is in force. Any other coverage your contract requires is bound at award and shown on a certificate naming your agency.
- Vendor registration in your state or agency portal, completed before award. We are already registered on the state eProcurement systems in Michigan, North Carolina and Virginia.
- SAM.gov active small business, UEI PRPBEM9HEND3, CAGE 15CS5, registered under NAICS 541611, 541511, 541512 and 541690 among others. Enrolled in E-Verify.
- A quote with a statement of work attached: scope, fee, acceptance test and invoice schedule for each phase.
- Invoices per phase, Net 30, on your acceptance of that phase.
Built in the open, so you can judge it before you ask
We will not show you invented case studies. These are our own public builds, each live.

See Power BI consultingWho does the work
Our senior consultants lead every build, and the consultant who scopes your project leads the build. Our lead consultant brings twelve years in production analytics, most of it in Power BI, SQL Server and the Microsoft stack.
That consultant led reporting on a $30M multi jurisdictional federal initiative from 2019 to 2022, and at a national telecom unified a sales pipeline spanning six source systems into one Power BI environment. That record was earned before Blue Peak was formed, so we describe it as our people's experience rather than the firm's past performance, on purpose.
Questions remote buyers ask
Do you need to come on site?
No. Power BI work happens in your tenant, so every phase runs remotely. If your team wants an in-person kickoff or training session, we quote the trip as its own line so you can decide whether it is worth it.
How do we know the work is on track without regular meetings?
A dated written update every week, the report itself open in your workspace between reviews, and a recorded screen-share review at each checkpoint in the scope. You see the work as it is built, not for the first time at the end.
What does a remote Power BI project cost?
The same as a local one. Every project is quoted from a written scope before you sign, and the number of sources, pages and access rules is what moves it. Tell us what you need and the quote comes back in writing.
Can a government agency in another state buy from you?
Yes. We are a SAM.gov active small business (UEI PRPBEM9HEND3, CAGE 15CS5), provide a W-9 and certificate of insurance, and register in your vendor portal before award.
Where does our data go?
Nowhere outside your environment. We build and publish in your own Microsoft tenant under an account you issue, never copy data to a Blue Peak server, and never paste it into a public AI tool.
What time zone do you work in?
US Central. The project runs in writing, so questions get a written answer within one business day, and live reviews are booked at a time written into the scope.
Who owns the finished report?
You do. Handoff includes the Power BI file, the semantic model, the documented measures, a written description of every source field and the recorded walkthroughs. Your analyst can change and republish it without us.
Do you only do Power BI?
Power BI is most of our work, alongside SQL data pipelines and AI workflow automation in Microsoft 365. If the right answer is a fix to a spreadsheet your team already has, we say so.
Send us the report you want replaced
Name it in a line, wherever you are: the monthly packet, the board chart rebuilt by hand, the export nobody trusts. Add a rough figure for how long it takes today.
You get a written read back within one business day: what it would take, roughly what it would cost, and whether it is worth doing at all.
