Power BI tune-up

Your Power BI report, fast again

Send us the report your team waits on. Within five business days you get it back fast, with a timing sheet that shows every slow page before and after. Same pages, same figures, same security.

What it is

A focused job on one report. We measure every slow page three times, find what is costing the time, fix it in the model, check that every headline figure still matches, and measure again. You see the proof on one sheet.

Who it is for

  • Cities and counties whose dashboards slowed down as the years of data piled up
  • Police departments that keep five years of history for comparisons and wait on every page
  • Businesses whose sales, operations or finance report now takes longer to open than to read

How it works

01

Send a one-line note.

Tell us which report is slow and roughly how much data sits behind it. We reply with a written quote the same business day.

02

Send the report.

Public agencies send a template (.pbit), which holds no data rows, plus the timings from Performance Analyzer. Businesses can send the report file under our written confidentiality terms.

03

We tune it.

Summary tables for year-over-year pages, lean columns, one-way relationships, cleaner calculations. Anything that would change what a page shows waits for your yes.

04

You get it back.

The tuned report, the before-and-after timing sheet and a short note on what changed, within five business days of the files arriving. Your file is deleted from our side the same day, and we confirm it in writing.

What you get

  • The tuned report, with your pages, your figures and your security unchanged
  • A timing sheet: three runs per page, before and after, and the median
  • A check that every headline figure and every table's row count match before and after
  • A short note on what changed, and anything we found that you should know about

Questions

What makes a Power BI report slow?

Usually a handful of things: comparisons across years computed row by row, date and time columns that are nearly unique, calculated columns on large tables, filters that scan a whole table, and pages that open on all of history. Most reports have two or three of these at once.

Will my numbers change?

No. We check every headline figure before and after. If we find a figure that looks wrong today, we tell you and leave it as it is unless you ask us to correct it.

Do you need our data?

Public agencies never send data. A template holds the model and pages with no rows, and you run the tuned template against your own data. Businesses may send the report file; it stays on one encrypted work laptop and is deleted when we hand the tuned report back.

What is outside a tune-up?

New pages, DirectQuery models, incremental refresh set-up and row-level security redesign. We quote those separately if you want them.

How long does it take?

Five business days from the day the files arrive. The written quote comes back the same business day you ask.
